The comment about "asian food" is just ridiculous. ![]() It's not disrespectful, it's just.obvious? People asking for recommendations aren't asking how Safta compares to Balaboosta (though I honestly think it compares pretty favorably!), and they aren't going to just not eat because Denver's food isn't as good as Chicago's, so these comments are just annoying. It's not helpful, it's not useful, and it mostly is done to point out how superior the person making the comment is in the food that they've eaten. ![]() Everyone fucking knows that Denver isn't NYC, SF, Chicago, or LA. The downvotes aren't because other people haven't eaten in other cities, it's because this comment gets posted on every single thread and it's annoying. I’m sorry but I haven’t tried any of the restaurants that you mentioned in your original post so I have no opinions on them.Īny way you look at it, Downtown Denver has a huge variety of foods that can tempt any palate and I’m sure you will enjoy yourself! You can easily find places downtown for upwards of $200-$400 a person, and down to fast food ie McDonalds - Taco Bell etc I don’t drink alcohol, but my bill for 1 is normally $20-$30 at each spot which I find is about the norm. There’s a hundred other places that I am certain are great but these are what I like (denver native). This is my personal must do for Denver Downtown Eats. D’Corazon (a great Mexican American family owned representative of Denver food.Snarfs &/or Cheba Hut (quick sandwich that is delicious for grabbing something quickly and both right near the convention center).Milk Market (a fun way to waste away an afternoon or evening too).Bourbon Grill (more of a great late afternoon meal when your starving and want some good homemade food to warm your insides-family owned/ran for 40+ years and everything is from scratch).Sam’s No 3 (breakfast - lunch is always my go to but their red chile beans are a dinner in itself). Some fun places I take everyone who comes to visit (all within walking distance or I hop on an e-bike or scooter) I live across the street from the convention center and don’t have a vehicle as downtown parking is ….I digress Also, my dinner budget is pretty high, but I don't *have to* spend that much-if there's a hole-in-the-wall place you like more, I'm open to that too. I considered Safta but it seems a little too far/not quite worth the Uber.Uchi (same q as above-can I walk in as a solo diner or is a reservation necessary?).Tavernetta (Is it generally possible to walk in without a reservation, as a solo diner? I don't mind having to wait a bit.).Liang's Thai Food (is this worth it for an out-of-town visitor?)ĭinner (ideally within a 30 minute walk, but I am open to taking a bus or a short Uber ride (though I can't expense transportation to meals so it really has to be worth paying out of pocket)):. ![]() Suggestions welcome!ĭays 2-4: must be quick and near the convention center so I can get back to work in an hour or less. Two more breakfasts-looking for ideas!.Pastry by Black Box (wholesaler, sold at a couple of cafes near-ish my hotel, Roostercat Cafe and Tea with Tae).Breakfast burrito (tentatively from Oasis Grill, which I saw mentioned in my research at some point, though the minimal Google reviews make me wonder if it's still there.).Here's my plan so far-please let me know what I'm missing, or if you think I should skip anywhere on my list!īreakfast (can be anywhere within a 20-30 minute walk from the convention center): I also love breakfast burritos! I know that "around the convention center" is not a great place to look for amazing food in any city, but I'm trying to make the best of this situation :) I would self-describe as a foodie, and I like all kinds of food, especially fancy pastries, South Asian and Middle Eastern food, aged cheeses, sushi, and surprising/unique flavor combinations. Tl dr: I'm looking for recommendations for good fast-casual places very near the convention center, and good coffeeshops and restaurants for dinner within a 30 minute walk.Ībout me: I'll be staying at a hotel very near the convention center, will not have a car, will be eating solo for most/all of these meals, and have a budget of up to $75 for each dinner (before tax/tip/alcohol). I have read through previous posts on this subreddit and found them very helpful (thank you!) but am looking for a few more recommendations for the rest of my four days of meals. I'm visiting Denver for a conference soon, traveling from NYC.
